Recovering/Uncovering is a project that reclaims cardboard on its way to the dumpster, and re-uses it as canvases for portraits. Using a combination of line drawing, cross-hatching, and the natural corrugation of the cardboard, these works attempt to capture snapshots of real-life figures who are facets in today’s culture (if you’re wondering, that’s David Lynch above). Based out of Harrisburg, Recovering/Uncovering works to provide other artists with opportunities to complete projects that emphasize a spirit of reuse and sustainability.
