Plastic bags, plastic bags, plastic bags [5]. Since they don’t seem to be vanishing any time soon, designers keep coming up with ways to reuse them. The most recent and fascinating of these developments is Gert de Mulder’s Recy-Blocks. Featured at Rotterdam’s Material Xperience 2010 [6], these decorative blocks are made from discarded bags and retain their shape via exposure to high heat. Their color varies depending on the color or print of the bags used, and can be decorated with pressed flowers and other eco-accoutrement.
