Recycling old cell phones to refurbish and cell to raise for the Red Cross which has raised in excess of $500M for Haiti Relief does nothing to help stabilize the country and its people. Red Cross and all NGOs in the country continue to hand the people a fish to eat for one instead of teaching them to fish so they can eat everyday.
