Recycled CD Spindle Bagel Holder

by , 03/18/10

bagel to go, rodrigo piwonka, spindle case, cd case, eco design, green design, sustainable design

Artist Rodrigo Piwonka went and did one of those things — those things that epitomize simple, wholesome, good design so much that they make you never want to hear the word “bamboo” again. Yes, Rodrigo took a bagel sandwich and put it in an old CD spindle case, thus giving the case a new life as a reusable bagel sandwich container. And while the next post you read will probably involve solar power, wind energy, or something you can fit on the head of a pin, we thought we’d take a moment to share this great, simple, example of Superuse. Righteous.

it’s a clever idea, but this isn’t food grade plastic, not made for storing food, and most likely the plastic leeches chemicals into your food.
