Gallery: Rekindle’s Recycled Fur...

Rekindle is a social enterprise that transforms salvaged wood from an earthquake demolition site into one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture. The New Zealand-based team do exactly as their name suggests; they rekindle remnants of demolished wood in Christchurch, a region that has been badly hit by earthquakes. By turning salvaged wood into beautiful chairs the team makes use of materials that would otherwise be destroyed while raising awareness for deconstruction practices.

In order to source the waste materials and take advantage of reusable wood, Rekindle offer a discount on furniture to anyone that sources discarded pieces of wood. The incentive helps encourage people to divert wood from going to a landfill and giving it a new home as a stunning piece of craftsmanship.
