Rocio Romero Prefab Home Tour Kicks Off Tomorrow in NY!
Rocio Romero is one of our favorite prefab designers mastering the art of fusing modernist design with affordability. Her LV series articulates her commitment to minimalism with clean, comfortable lines that attend equally to indoor and outdoor spaces. To date, more than 110 LV prefabs have become home to owners throughout 23 states in the US, with 40 more under construction. While prefab fans have been able to tour the Rocio Romero show home in Missouri for several years, this weekend marks the first time that a finished LV is available for viewing in New York. The first National LV Open House Tour kicks off on March 1st (tomorrow!) in the Hudson Valley!
The Gallatin, NY, home open tomorrow is an LVL version of Romero’s line. The owners, Matthew and Allison Meek, were drawn to the Hudson Valley from Brooklyn. Enchanted with the landscape but unimpressed with the cost and style of existing homes on the market, the couple turned to Romero’s LV series. Matthew Meek said “Rocio Romero’s kit home actually made it affordable to realize our dream of a modern getaway.”
The LVL is the largest model from Romero at 1453 sq. ft and featuring a living room, dining room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and closets. Each home in the LV series comes with factory built kit components including post and beam, exterior wall panels, faux wall panels, roof framing, select connectors, and siding material for the exterior shell which is built on site by a general contractor. The LV series starts at around $20,000 with increases depending on size, materials and customization.
The Meeks personalized their LVL kit home with interior reconfigurations like a more open master bath and opting for cedar tongue-and-groove siding instead of the LV’s standard corrugated aluminum, marking the first time an LV has used cedar. From what we’ve seen, the home looks like an amazing fruition of Romero’s vision. For more information on the tour, visit Rocio Romero’s website.
