The architects completed the renovation using restoration materials that complemented the existing house and developed what was already there. But the new renovations are distinct from Philip Johnson’s original design. The residence’s new garage is the entrance to the entire estate, and follows the original height of the barn. Both the pool house and the garage where inserted into the hillside, minimizing the concrete volumes of the constructions.

The Country Estate’s crowning glory is the gallery. Set within the shell of a barn dating back to the 19th century, the minimalist gallery combines the traditional garbled roof with a solid black facade.
