“Now folks! THIS is what it means to be an American Citizen! INNOVATION!” commented reader Richard H. Parker Jr. on our Facebook post about this solar-power truck that’s been providing power to Hurricane Sandy victims – and we could’t agree more. Named “Rolling Sunlight”, Greenpeace’s mobile power station is topped with a photovoltaic array and has the ability to store 50 kilowatt-hours of power in a set of batteries housed inside. True to its name, it’s been bringing a ray of sunshine to people in the Rockaways who have no power to charge up their phones to stay in touch with loved ones.
