Rubbish becomes a cool new design with the Lampada Metro by Sicilian artist Arcangelo Favata — aka Alicucio. The contemporary lamp was on display at this year’s Milan Furniture Fair, and features the reuse of old folding rulers that were once weilded by carpenters.
LED light filters through the zigzag structure of the lamp, creating a game of shadows in the room where the lamp is set. The rulers themselves were found by Alicucio in the streets of Turin, Italy.
Alicucio also contributes his efforts to Opere Aperte, an association engaged in a project aimed at teaching new skills to patients suffering from mental illness.
