Gallery: Sarah Garzoni Creates Beautiful Printed Butterflies Using Inkj...

Garzoni's work reimagines the powerful potential of consumerism and advertising.

The stunning collection includes company logos and strong links to consumerism: subtle hints towards a concept beyond the striking images of the butterflies themselves.

By taking a fragile and delicate household creature like the butterfly, and imposing a strong logo or name, Garzoni’s work reimagines the powerful potential of consumerism and advertising through a thoughtful collection of designs.

I’m not understanding this … does the artist use a printer to print directly on a real butterfly’s wings? (Therefor making the butterfly the canvas.) Or is this printed on paper using the image of a butterfly?
