Hi Inhabitat,

I'm so excited about this contest!

Here are just a FEW things I will do with my ipad:
I will use my ipad to keep my new @greenkellan twitter site up to date (twitter is where I found out about Inhabitat!).
I will use my ipad for my upcoming work trip to help with the oil spill in New Orleans by collecting and sharing pictures, video and stories from our travels. One of the things we are planning is to work with the Louisiana Bucket Brigade on their Oil Crisis Map.
I will use my ipad to read my growing book list while I head on a camping trip in August. Greg Mortenson's Stones into Schools and Jane Goodall's Hope for Animals and Their World are both on my list!
I will use my ipad to continue my mission to change the world!

Thanks, Inhabitat!

I would like to have the IPAD to search new ways to make my school (I am chair of the PTO) more eco friendly, and recently I have gotten into making foods from a garden in my backyard and would like to use the IPAD to create more eco friendly and healthy garden tips. I am more excited about not having to go to Barnes and Nobles to buy books for me and the family.... PLEASE PICK ME :))))

This is a big world we live in and I am making the effort to make our earth a more sustainable place to live in. I understand that we need to be more aware of our resources. So I will take any opportunity I can to reach that goal of becoming earth friendly and influence others as well. With iPad I can read books or magazines, or show off inhabitat articles on the train to fellow commuters to help spread the word and ideas people have in helping our planet.

I would first design a new type of drill that instead of using drill bits, uses superheated water to cut through rock. This drill would be used to drill for geothermal energy, of which the earth has in absurdly large amounts. The drill would allow plants to be built anywhere as it will be able to drill deeper and quicker than ever before. I would then develop an app for the iPad that allows me to control this drill from anywhere in the world, so that I can ship drills to companies, drill for them remotely, then have them ship the drill back. Everyone wins- the world gets green energy and I have a sweet use for my new iPad :)

I will be sure to read inhabitat.com. But also a few books on my list are "Eat, Pray, Love" - "A New Earth" for the second time. Also for work I plan to read "Good to Great". And I will follow Inhabitat.com on facebook on a regular bases.

My intrest in a greener life begins and home and journeys with me to work each day. To be honest my daughter plays a big role in teaching me the imporatance of our future on this planet and she works hard to make our home trash free.. Meaning to have as less trash as possible. With the ideas I get at home I take them to work and have given my job some good tips as well. We have a sustainability group here and we do everything from recycle paper to making sure we use green cleaning supply's to keep our office space free from harmful chemicals that could hurt associates and our environment by leaking into the water system.

I am proud of my daughter and the efforts that my job makes everyday to help our land for the future.

Three things,
I am starting an Architecture for Humanity Chapter here is SWFLA and I want to concentrate on the aftermath this recession has caused on the beautiful area of Florida. I want to concentrate on projects for Public schools whose budget have dwindled down to zero leaving no money to create spaces, gardens, even playgrounds for the kids. I want to use the IPAD for illustrative sketches as well as holding Construction Documents, thus saving money on printing expenses, as well as being green and saving paper.

I also want to help the realty business for this area. Driving through towns, so many buildings are up for sale, empty, downtowns vacant. I would like to collaborate with realtors and the Downtown area redevelopment agencies, and show the potential that these old buildings can have. I would use the iPad again for illustrative purposes, sketches and renderings of how they can "recycle " these old building for something new, instead of razing undeveloped land.
The last thing I would do,of course, is read your newsletter!

One more thing, I can cut down on noise pollution in any public area by allowing my children to watch a movie on the iPad!

Of course I\'ll be reading inhabitat.com... Also some french eco-litterature (Jourda\'s books for instance), or even some of my favorite blogs: like Inhabitat, Engadget (beside the inhabitat\'s column there are some interesting posts), or Jetsongreen...
I\'ll be able to show to my coleagues and friends the wonderfull arhitecture pictures that i have to work with (I am a junior journalist), or those incredible new inventions that are made every day!
Well, cause that is a multimedia device, I may also watch \"An Inconvenient Truth\".
I have no luck, but who knows... maybe I\'ll be able to do all that with a new Ipad, thanks to Inhabitat.

With a real interest in sustainable design I currently teach Product Design at an international school in Rome and have shown your site to my very keen students (the fantastic designers of tomorrow!)and use it as an invaluable research tool.I have just brought some pupils back from visiting Art and Design degree shows in the UK, where we also visited Shared Earth shops and the Eighth Day Cafe and Fairtrade/environmental shop(this type of thing is sadly lacking in Rome). I take photos of good design or to provide inspiration and research pupils wherever I go - I would use an iPad to do this and be able to send them to whole classes quickly and easily whilst on the move. Presently, due to my home location, I only have a dial up connection at home which is painfully slow. I really hope to win this to help keep pupils motivated and informed with environmental design developments.

It is amazing to know what Inhabitat is doing to alot of people like us who love adventures. I have faith in the information you are passing to us and believe that I will live in a natural outfit in a country side thereby advertising your product to our own part of the world.

Thanks

I plan to live a greener life by reading inhabitat and other RSS feeds on my iPad, waste less electricity by using compact fluorescents, write on recycled banana paper, waste less water during my daily routines and be more productive by working from anywhere in the world!

As I prepare to start the second half of my life more aware of how I lived the first half, I am selling my energy-inefficient house and preparing for a life in as small a footprint for me as possible: on a sailboat! I am excited to spend the next part of my adventure skirting the shore, using wind and solar power aboard, and living on my own sustainability. Currently I'm donating my "conventional" books to save as much space as I can. A digital reader is so much more efficient than printing with nonsustainable resources!
