McMahon’s Rouche is a multi-occupancy seating unit created through a perceptual play of material and structure. Made of metal and plastic, the bench went through an elaborate journey of investigation, illustration, modeling, prototyping and construction.

Last week, students and alumni from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) furniture design department presented their latest designs at the Salone Satellite during the 2013 Milan Furniture Fair. SCAD was the only US university invited to participate in this year’s event, and students brought with them eight beautiful handmade crafts, each with their own modern twist. Also on show were a number of renderings featuring additional student works currently in progress.
