Inspired by rice terraces carved into the mountains of Asia, this Counter Cabinet challenges the way furniture is perceived. With its multiple layers and shapes of a hovering landscape, the surreal cabinet was designed by Danish designer Benjamin Nordsmark to be equally sculptural and unconventionally functional. The main body is divided into two pieces – a hidden miniature world lies underneath its dome-like top, while the bottom swivels open and mirrors reversed shapes of the outside.
