Synthesis Design + Architecture has combined the trappings of a modern workspace with the timeless beauty of wood. The organic, sweeping shapes cleverly hide frosted Perspex storage units that are internally lit by LEDs. The CNC-cutplywood ribs and spacers create the image of a world map, providing visual interest and leading the eye across the room. Made for a private client in Chelsea, the workspace is “an exercise in realizing complex geometries with limited finances”. Looking at the bespoke desk, precisely crafted panels, and flowing architecture, one would never guess Synthesis was limited by anything.

No one likes to spend long hours at the office, but Synthesis Design + Architecture’s workspace in Chelsea is one place we wouldn’t mind doing a little overtime. The gorgeous custom wood room blends the sculptural with the functional in a home office in London. Created from CNC milled birch wood panels and interlocking spacers, the desk and wall display is a graphic representation of a world map. The amazing wood-wrapped interior also includes hidden storage and LED task lighting.
