The auto world is buzzing today about Tesla‘s highly-anticipated Model X family-sized vehicle, which was unveiled just last night. Built for parents with a need for speed, this car breaks the mold for crossover vehicles with “falcon wing” doors, a completely web connected digital interface, an ultra-performance dual motor all-wheel drive, and room for seven passengers. All of this comes at a price though since the car starts at around $50,000, but from the looks of this sexy all-electric crossover, it will be money well-spent.

Ford just leaked photos of its EVOS Concept to be revealed at next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show. In short, we love it. The EVOS is a plug-in hybrid with four exotic gullwing doors and a gorgeous design language, which Ford is using to establish a new direction for the design of all future Ford models. The shape of the EVOS borrows heavily from current Aston Martins, which isn’t a bad thing. The teardrop-shaped rear windows are going to show up on numerous Fords in the coming years, lending four-door sedans a coupe-like appearance.

When people say Deuce, they’re usually referring to Detroit or the number 2, so we were a little surprised to see that term pop up on a concept car for San Francisco surfers. Nevertheless, we like this sharp EV, which is designed with gullwing doors and a hatchback for the ultimate mix of style and utility. The Deuce features unique cargo options such as front trunk space under the hood a la Porsche, a surfboard rack up top, and space inside the rear hatch for stowing your adventure gear. We have to assume the battery pack is stored in the floor like in the Tesla Model S, since there isn’t much room left anywhere else for it.

Clear29′s LT LED-lit skateboards are a triple threat – they’re a green way to get around, they keep the rider safe at night and they look totally wicked. Each tricked-out board is outfitted with LEDs that are powered by a 9V battery (how awesome would it be if these could be pedal-powered in the future instead), clear wheels, 9-inch high response gullwing mission trucks, and ABEC5 racing bearings. At $200 a pop, they aren’t the cheapest, but when you think about all the money you’ll be saving on gas and possible hospital bills, they’re worth it.

Green racing fans rejoice! Porsche has just unveiled its 911 GT3 R Hybrid, a 480 horsepower track vehicle ready to rock the 24-hour Nurburgring race this May. Porsche’s latest supercar will use the same 911 production platform available to consumers today, with a few race-ready features including front-wheel hybrid drive and an innovative flywheel system that stores kinetic energy from braking and then uses it to provide a 160 horsepower burst of speed.

Mercedes has confirmed the rumors that have been flying about – they will revive the classic Gullwing Mercedes as an all electric dynamo car. It’s exactly the kind of car James Bond would drive in his next movie if it were available. Not only is it a beautiful update to the classic model, but it’s got the horsepower to back it up – 526 horsepower to be exact. This ain’t your grandpa’s Gullwing – this is the SLS AMG Supercar and is the “exciting future of the super sportscar” if we’ve ever seen it.

The Swiss company Mindset AG has announced that it is planning to produce an ultra-lightweight hybrid vehicle with roof-mounted solar panels. The hybrid coupe, dubbed Six50, is the work of former VW head of design Murat Günak and from what we’ve seen of the preliminaries, this car is as cool looking as it sounds.
