Seattle’s Bertschi Elementary School [1] was just certified as the world’s fourth Living Building. The elementary school, situated in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, is a 3,380-square-foot interactive learning environment filled with numerous green features – including composting toilets, solar panels and a slew of other additions that allowed it to meet the rigorous standards of the Living Building Challenge 2.0 [2].
