Gallery: Sebastián Errázuriz Creates Anti-Capitalist Street Art By Pain...

The Brooklyn-based artist has been making a statement by turning street lines into dollar signs in a hybrid project called "Wall Street Nation". The public intervention is a cool follow-up from his previous creative works which showed support for the occupy movement.

The prolific designer Sebastián Errázuriz has transformed some regular streets into anti-capitalist works of art using only a brush and some white paint. Since wowing us with his elaborate Magistral Cabinet design, the Brooklyn-based artist has been making a statement by turning street lines into dollar signs in a hybrid project called “Wall Street Nation.” The designer has showed continued support for the Occupy movement in the past, and the public intervention marks a cool follow-up to his creative ‘Occupy Chairs‘ series.

The altered streets represent the path of capitalism and the role it plays within society, questioning its central position within our lives. “The goal is to express the fear and impotence that people are currently experiencing while seeing the growing greed that is transforming the way we live,” says Errázuriz. He invites others to pick up a brush and make a similar stand of their own.

A Stencil and spray paint would be much faster and make for an easier getaway.
