We first caught wind of the Sauna Box back in 2005 and since then Castor has built a number of these custom units and updated them along the way. The Sauna Box is built within an 8x8x8 ft mini shipping container and includes insulation, western red cedar, the wood-fired stove and stove pipe out the roof and a door into the sauna. The new design also comes with an iPod stereo, electric guitar hook-up, a unique Castor stool, magnetic truck light, bronze antlers and a rooftop solar panel.
The off-grid unit is heated with wood and powered with the solar panel, making this sauna totally self sufficient. Close the cargo doors and your sauna is protected from the elements and safe while you’re not using it. Castor can also customize the container sauna for your site. Drop it in your backyard, your remote cabin or maybe even on the roof of your building if it can handle the load. For just $41,000, the Sauna Box could be your ticket to relaxation.
If the holidays didn’t result in exactly the present you wanted, you might want to save your money up for this – a self-sufficient shipping container Sauna Box. Designed by Canadian firm – Castor Design, the Sauna Box is a traditional wood-burning sauna
