The Trevose house in Singapore echoes its tranquil environs by acting as an extension of the surrounding greenery. The architects at AD Lab Pte Ltd were commissioned to design a multi-generational residence that would provide diverse spaces and meet the specific requirement of the owners for lots of light and nature incorporated into the space.
The residence is located on a corner lot in a lushly planted residential neighborhood in Singapore. It’s surrounded by mature rain trees and quiet walkways. In order to incorporate these features, the architects created a compact building with a small courtyard. A large garden veranda wraps around and up the external facade and visually continues onto the main roof, while the courtyard helps bring natural light into the center of the house.
The long verandas also function as extensions of the individual rooms and creates a connection between different spaces of the house. This provides privacy as well as the possibility for the family to come together in the garden space.
