Senza Bike Lock Renders Handlebars Useless to Bike Thieves

The only thing better than deterring a bike [4] thief altogether is watching him wobble away on a bike without the benefit of handlebars to steer his escape. That’s what Jaryn Miller [5]‘s Senza Bicycle promises — the lock is an integrated part of the bike that also serves as the handlebars, so when it is broken the function of the bike itself is compromised.

The idea is to make the Senza Bike not worth bike thieves’ time. “People hate carrying locks, and sometimes they forget them,” Miller explains. And worse: “Some locks leave the seats and tires vulnerable, and if they are broken, the bike is still in perfect condition.” Miller’s bike solves both problems, rendering the handlebars inoperable if the lock is broken. The inventor is currently in college, however we hope he finds a manufacturer once he graduates!
