Shigeru Ban’s Carbon Neutral Tamedia Office Fits Together Like Building Blocks

Japanese architect Shigeru Ban is building a new carbon neutral office for Swiss media company Tamedia . Located in the heart of Zurich, the 4-story building features a beautiful wooden structure that fits together like a building block set without the need for screws or glue .
When complete, Shigeru Ban ‘s Tamedia office will feature a magnificent glass façade that fills the interior with light while providing views out over the Sihl river . But the building’s most innovative feature is its interlocking wooden structure, which is made from non-treated wood and can be dismantled anytime since it is held together without screws or glue. The building also follows Switzerland’s strict energy regulations, and it was specially designed to be carbon neutral.
