Like many New Yorkers, Greenpoint, Brooklyn-based artist and designer Sebastian Errazuriz‘s life work was interrupted by Hurricane Sandy. So instead of ignoring what was right in front of him, Errazuriz produced a series of T-shirts to help provide relief for storm victims. Inspired by the water lines on the walls of the galleries in Manhattan’s Chelsea art district, the Chilean transplant transformed two tourist staples—Milton Glasser’s “I Love NY” logo and the Metropolitan Transit Authority subway map—by dip-dyeing them, 1970s style, in indigo ink. The shirts are $40 each, and all proceeds go towards helping victims of the disaster.
