Gallery: Shu-Chun Hsiao’s Google...
Taking the Google Maps landmark icon as a starting point, the Taiwanese designer created internet-inspired bird houses that mark where birds go to rest.
These playful Google birdhouses by Shu-Chun Hsiao re-imagine typical bird dwellings as points of interest in urban locations. Inspired by the Google Maps landmark icon, Hsiao’s modern bird houses mark the places where birds go to rest.
Here at Inhabitat we love seeing innovative new digs for our feathered friends – from pixellated tree houses to adobe tile abodes. Whereas some designs seek to blend into the environment, Shu-Chun Hsiao‘s Google Birdhouses do the opposite. They tag the little feathered creature’s homes, identifying the places they roost so that passersby can take note and keep an eye out for them.
