‘SIX DEGREES’ On National Geographic TV This Sunday

by , 02/09/08

The rise in temperature due to global warming will have a number of consequences that we have just barely started to comprehend. To make sense of it all, the National Geographic Channel is set to air “Six Degrees Could Change The World” tomorrow, February 10th, based on the book by Mark Lynas of the same name, that will clearly show how the future is set to change, unless we change the way we live.

Relatively realistic if we don’t stop things… Watching the party nominations over in the US I was pretty shocked to see McCain’s stance on the environment used AGAINST him by Romney (I think)… Are things that bad over there that people see green views as a reason to vote against a candidate?! If so we’ve got a long, long way to go and I just can’t see us avoiding serious climate change…

Yea if you believe we should not trash our planet, in the US you are treated like you are mad, stupid, or liberal(that is a dirty work here now!)
It freaks me out to see the overconsumpiton, selfish and greedy way that many US citizens see at their ‘right’ to use and toss.
To get back to your original question. Not only is being concerned about our envronment a reason to vote against you, its reason to treat you like dirt, or stupid and crazy.. My grandparents grew up during the Great Depression, so I was taught from childhood to , reuse , reduce, make do and to dispose of things properly if not recycleable. My partner and I are doing all we can to lessen our impact.

Wow… Over here in Europe we have a political party in nearly every country called “The Liberal Party” (or something very similar)… Many are in power or have been quite regularly. Hang in there Robert, the change will come in time, although I increasingly believe it will be too late.

if its too late, maybe we should just give up and give in…
    …………….
    its never too late..

Doesn’t really matter that much if you believe in the Mayan Calander. In the year 2012 A.D., the entire universe ends and a new form of life will begin. Until then, enjoy your SUV!
