Local artists work by hand and produce safer and more durable products. Cost is really immaterial, when you think of the alternatives -- products that break after a day or two, with toxic content, and have high carbon impacts during mass-production. Now, if sweat shops in China use <a href="http://tribalenergies.com.au/" rel="nofollow">green electricity</a> during production, that would have made a huge difference.
