Now that you’ve got your beach bod all ready for a sun-drenched summer, it’s time to choose a eco-friendly swimsuit for those days spent sprawled out on the sand. Designed by Brooklyn-based Andrew Schneider, this solar-powered bikini is capable of charging a cellphone or MP3 player through a series of thin, flexible photovoltaic film strips and USB connectors, woven together with conductive thread. Each bikini is entirely hand-stitched, requiring an average of 80 hours to make.
