SORAA just took home a 2013 Red Dot Product Design Award with their Vivid LED MR16 – which is the world’s first full visible spectrum bulb! The California-based company is the world’s leader in gallium-nitride on gallium-nitride (GaN on GaN™) LED technology, and their Vivid LED was honored for its design innovation, functionality and energy efficiency.

Whereas some LED lamps utilize multiple light sources that must be kept cool to generate enough light, SORAA’s Vivid LED uses a single small super-bright LED. This is possible because of the company’s patented GaN on GaN technology, which delivers superior light quality within an aesthetically pleasing bulb. In addition to producing up to ten times the light per unit area and cutting energy use by 75% compared to halogen lamps, SORAA’s Vivid LED MR16 lasts a whopping 25,000 hours. Brilliant!
