Catch a spectacular birds eye view of South Africa’s North West Province by soaring gracefully in a hot air balloon ride. With panoramic views of the ancient Pilanesberg mountains against the quiet morning sunrise, or even closer views of wildlife when gliding at tree-top level, you’ll get to experience South Africa in a way that few ever get to in their lifetime.
Kayak the Orange River
To truly experience nature up close and personal, try tackling one of South Africa’s rapids in the Orange River. This long, green-fringed oasis runs along South Africa’s northern border with Namibia and through the mountainous desert area known as Richtersveld, which offers magnificent scenic views of the rocky terrain as well as a challenging experience to check off your bucket list.
Zip Line Through Treetops
Take a breezy zip line tour of Tsitsikamma in Eastern Cape and glide across rivers and over three waterfalls to view the lush, indigenous vegetation below. At more than 50 meters above ground, you’ll catch a view that’s often reserved for South African wildlife.
Leap Off the World’s Highest Commercial Bungee Jump
The 216-meter high Bloukrans Bridge in Eastern Cape is the highest commercial bungee jump from a bridge in the world and attracts adventure-seekers from all over the globe. The bridge is found along the scenic Garden Route and is considered one of the most spectacular bungee jumps in South Africa, if not the world.
