Although I’m not the biggest Frank Gehry fan, I am a huge fan of prefab housing. Therefore, I am very excited to hear that Gehry is joining the ranks of the Starchitects who design prefab homes. Since Gehry is probably the most famous practicing architect in America at the moment, his brand name will likely give an image boost to prefab housing, which has long been associated with a low-end trailer-park housing aesthetic.

The main benefit of prefab housing is the chance to own a stylish, high-tech, environmentally friendly house for an affordable price. But being able to own a Frank Gehry designed home for an affordable price may the biggest draw to many homebuyers.
