Portuguese energy company StarEnergy [5] recently unveiled the INTI Solar Charge Point, a solar-powered charging station for mobile phones, tablets and laptops that can be installed in public spaces like parks, beaches, airports, bus/train stations, cities or even be used temporarily in open-air events. In its basic version it comes with Wi-Fi distribution, and in upgraded versions it can include video vigilance, LED lighting and support for advertising. The model has autonomy for two days without sun, provides Wi-Fi signal distribution 24 hours per day in a range of 150 meters and could charge 2000 mobile phones per day, with a 15 minutes charge each.
