Despite a tiny footprint, giving the home 3 levels expands its limited space

Although the home looks tiny from the outside, Elding Oscarson gave it three storeys crested by a pleasant rooftop courtyard. Rather than blocking out the urban realm beyond the townhouse, a somewhat transparent mesh provides a certain continuity with it, as well as plenty of natural lighting. The windows are comprised of high-performance insulated glass that ensures the building’s modest carbon footprint. Inherently different from the historical buildings on either side of it, the townhouse, which was completed in 2009, definitely stands out. While that might not thrill the stoic Swedes, we think sustainability needs all the attention it can get.
