The project consists of two museums; the Ecology museum will be connected via a high-speed tram to the central business district of the Ecocity itself, and will focus specifically on Earth to Earth, Earth to Man, and Earth to Cosmos ecology. It will be organized to incorporate open-plan offices and green roof [2] terraces with living exhibits.

In contrast the Planning Museum will provide information about the Tianjin Ecocity as a whole as well as broader issues relating to green architecture, and will feature temporary exhibition areas and digital projection spaces. The space will open out onto a green roofscape and will be naturally daylit [3] from the top level.
