The cities of London, New York and San Francisco have all installed speedy bike lanes that encourage the use of carbon-free transportation. However if you’re in Mexico and you want a bike lane, you have to build it yourself. A group of citizens/activists in Guadalajara, led by local teachers and students, decided to take matters into their own hands and painted in a 5 km bike line, bike stop boxes and added signs on a very busy section of road. Creativity, a lot of paint and many volunteers made this all possible.
