Students Destroy Louis Vuitton Garments and Turn Them into Art

by , 10/17/10

This week, 24 Parsons School of Fashion students descended upon Louis Vuitton's SoHo NYC store to hack and slash discarded clothing samples and then reassemble them into works of art.

Even if you’re not into high fashion, it’s hard to imagine anyone consciously taking a knife and tearing apart a Louis Vuitton gown. Last Tuesday 24 fashion students from the Parson New School for Design took over the  Louis Vuitton SoHo in New York City and slashed up press samples from Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection into unrecognizable bits and pieces. But this wasn’t a guerrilla attack against the House of Louis – the students took their newfound textiles and carefully crafted them into incredible works of wearable art.
