Dror Benshetrit , known for his QuaDror architectural building blocks, has been putting his design chops to use recently for something just a little different than structural joints: synagogue interiors. To be specific, it’s just one synagogue, but what a design doozy it is. Aptly named the Soho Synagogue , the newly opened shul is chic and stylish house of prayer located in an old Gucci storefront on Crosby Street in New York City. Founders Rabbi Dovi Scheiner and his wife Esty wanted a space that combined religious traditions with a modern aesthetic to fit the desires of the young, open-minded local Jewish community.
