Taking some plastic hangers in one hand and a pendant light in another, Luis Teixeira turned this unlikely combination of materials into an incredible crystalline masterpiece. But it doesn’t stop there — Teixeira’s material use extends as far as disposable dishes, vinyl records and carton caps. An exercise in socially responsible design, all of the lamps have been made by women in prison, helping them earn some extra money all while educating them on the concepts of green design. If you love this piece for its stunning form and socially conscious nature, vote for it now in our Spring Greening DIY Design Competition!
