I'll be honest, a few months ago I blasted Frito-Lay for pulling their Sun Chip bags off the shelves because they were too noisy. Now, the real reason wasn't the noise, it was the 11% decline in sales. But kudos to them for going back to the drawing board when they could have simply abandoned the idea altogether. Do you understand how loud 80-85 dB is? Considering that constant exposure to > 85 dB noise can cause hearing loss (and no I'm not saying that Sun Chips will lead to you losing your hearing), it should be painfully obvious that many people consider the bags too loud. I really like Sun Chips, so I put up with the noisy bags. But I can honestly say that prior to this, I have never even thought about how loud a chip bag is. I really like Sun Chips, so I put up with the noisy bags. But I can honestly say that prior to this, I have never even thought about how loud a chip bag is.
