Superstorm Sandy Victims Must Wait Another Month for Emergency Funds Thanks to House GOP

Sandy [4] may have hit more than two months ago, but there are still thousands of people waiting for relief from our government — and now it looks like they’ll be waiting much longer. This week, Speaker John Boehner announced that the House’s vote on a Hurricane Sandy [5] relief bill would be postponed until the 113th Congress is sworn in on January 21st. For those still feeling the ill-effects of the superstorm, the news comes as a huge and unnecessary blow, only highlighting that Congress’ interests reign far above their constituents.
