Generation ORGANIC combines down-to-earth and cosmopolitan attitudes on style for a fresh, sexy angle on modern alchemy and organic materials. With this in mind, we wanted to exhibit a little “integrity” of our own by showcasing several stunning pieces from John Patrick Organic’s upcoming Fall 2008 Collection.

We love that John Patrick Organic creates clothes that are beautiful to look at, elegant to wear, and are equally versatile as separates and season-to-season essentials for modern ‘aware’ living. ORGANIC’S Fall 2008 line includes gorgeously embroidered coats and jackets of organic Vermont wool, gamine eyelet dresses created from recycled cotton, a classic cardigan jacket crafted from 100% organic cotton boucle direct from Japan (Yes, this is the gorgeous cream jacket pictured at top!), jackets of vegetable-tanned leather, and naturally dyed, perfectly shrunken tees.
With a stellar track record for creating sustainable style collections already in place (way before others had jumped on the eco-bandwagon), John Patrick Organic has truly done his homework regarding right materials and right practices. He has alchemized shirting from defunct bed sheets and frequently visits his suppliers and manufacturers in Peru – having established organic cotton farming in these regions as well as being an outspoken advocate for the best wages for local farmers.
Luxury, in the eyes of the designer, is not about the acquisition of more ‘stuff’ or the creation of a ‘look’ but rather the opportunity to see beyond the makings of current trends and robo-consumer behavior. Ok, I really love this line. I just think it’s the best balance of fashion and ethics that I’ve seen, and I’m both a fashion fanatic and disciplined and critical consumer. I splurged on several pieces by Organic last Fall at a little independent shop called Tula Boutique in Chicago. I see them as investments in my wardrobe and they have served me very well!
