If there is one thing that we love about Stella McCartney , it is the fact that she seems to be able to do it all, without falling prey to ridiculous excess or manufacturing short cuts. Stella seems to have the Midas touch for concocting pieces that are totally covetable while also operating with a mature instinct about what constitutes good fashion, personal style, and balanced living. We were super excited to hear about her recent collaboration with LeSportsac for the Spring 2008 launch of cute shoulder bags and totes made of eco-friendly recycled polyester. Who better to bring on board for sporty accessories design, than a lifelong vegetarian who lives, loves, and breathes original sustainable style?
The former Creative Director for Chloe is definitely a multi-tasking, uber-mamma par excellence as she deftly juggles her gorgeous women’s ready-to-wear collection, her new super sexy organic cotton lingerie line, a cornucopia of organic beauty products, as well as a rockin’ sportswear line with Adidas .
Stella McCartney is now lending a sporty yet playful and feminine sensibility to the classic LeSportsac brand . The Spring 2008 Hobo Bag , one of our top style picks, represents the chic appeal of this cool collaboration. Crafted of eco-friendly recycled polyester, this roomy and versatile bag is a great everyday carryall and green accessory accent. Multiple interior zip and snap pockets are included as part of LeSportsac’s signature functionality .
Given that Stella McCartney does not use either fur or leather in her designs, the collaboration with Lesportsac seemed like a natural fit in terms of testing recycled polyester for the eco-luxe market. These cruelty-free bags are eco fashion investments pieces for sure, and though not inexpensive, are surely a sustainable choice in terms of lasting value and season-to-season appeal.
Added extras? The adorable bunny charm, drawstring exterior pocket, and snazzy print lining – all touches by Stella herself with a wink to the inner child in all of us.
Stella McCartney’s LeSportsac Hobo Bag retails for $350 at LeSportsac online.
