After years in the fashion industry, Anna Cohen has returned to her Portland, Oregon roots and launched her eponymous eco label, infusing her high-quality designs with sustainable principles and a sexy, chic esthetic that takes the crunch out of conscious dressing. I like that Anna Cohen really spells out on her website’s concept page what portion of her business is sustainable (75%) and what portion is currently unsustainable, so to speak (25%). Her vision of the entire “life cycle” of her product seems really grounded in attainable goals and future areas to find solutions for, i.e. some transportation issues, garment trims, dyes, etc. I much prefer this very grounded view of production to designer saying that their collection is simply “sustainable” and “eco-based”.
Nice Fall collection, maybe she will have her website professional designed…
Wow. Seriously sexy!
now if only the prices were sustainable…
I had the pleasure to work with Anna briefly at adidas, and she is one of the NICEST, smartest people I have come in contact with in my 15 years in the industry. I hope she continues to do well!
