SWITCH Lighting has been named an Edison Award Finalist after developing an LED light bulb that uses a liquid cooling technology. The unique liquid bulb’s innovative technology and beautiful design played a role in making it a strong contender for the award, as did the fact that it can be used in any current fixture and fitting. For this breakthrough, SWITCH has joined the prestigious ranks of companies such as Starbucks, Gillette, and Ford Motor Company, who have also been recipients of the award.

Named SWITCH75, the lighting concept is a finalist in the “Smart Systems” category, one of fifteen categories honored by the Edison Awards. According to the company’s website, SWITCH75 provides bright, warm light perfect for reading or working and has the same life expectancy as of all their bulbs – 25,000 hours. SWITCH75 turns on instantly, and works with most any dimmer.

The winners of the Edison Awards will be announced on April 26, 2012 at the Edison Awards Annual Gala at New York City’s Capitale.
