Have you ever taken a look around your garage, spotted an old automatic clutch, and thought “Man, that would make a nice lamp”? If not, perhaps you need to get on the level of creativity of the Romanian designers at Tablo. These creations are far different from your eighth grade memories of assembling 7Up soda can lamps in wood shop.
Some of the most overlooked household objects become one-of-a-kind centerpieces in these designers’ hands. Upcycling can take many forms, yet too often more challenging items are skipped over. The best upcyclers can take an item that would otherwise have no other place but a landfill and convert them into usable objects once more.
Tablo design uses a variety of automotive parts, including break discs, wheel bearings, and automatic clutches. Even longboard trucks can be revamped into brightly colored beacons. Other challenging upcycling pieces include hardware from computers and other electronics, and even TV tuner boards and hard-disk drives can be seen in a new light with a bit of creativity.
