California and Massachusetts-based prefab home company Blu Homes just announced that they have teamed with non-profit Homeward Bound of Marin to provide permanent, supportive housing for low-income families in Marin County, California. The project will be called Oma Village, and it’s set to transform the existing site of an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center into an eco-friendly community of 14 one and two-bedroom homes.

Prefab home builder Blu Homes is currently working on this year’s Sunset Idea House, which will be open to the public this summer. The annual housing project by Sunset Magazine shows off the latest in home building, design trends and sustainable strategies. Blu Homes has updated the iconic Sunset Breezehouse, which was first debuted by Sunset magazine in 2005, and will open the home to the public in August in California’s Sonoma Wine Country.
