If you’re a fan of the Chevy Volt plug-in hybrid, but have wanted a bit more style, General Motors might have something for you. Next month GM is going to unveil the 2014 Cadillac ELR extended-range electric vehicle, which shares its electric drivetrain with the Volt, but is wrapped in a much sexier exterior. We’re just under a month away from its official debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, but GM has released a teaser photo of the new electric luxury coupe.

Rumor has it, the Cadillac Converj luxury coupe has been approved for production – again. After wowing the crowds at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2009, and enduring an on-again off-again release deal with General Motors, the sleek sports coupe will be Cadillac’s first plug-in electric sedan, and on top of that, the fastest!

This year’s Detroit Motor Show has proven to be an exciting affair, with many major auto manufacturers unveiling plug-in electric and fuel-efficient vehicles. Not willing to be showed up by the Chrysler 200c, General Motors unveiled the Cadillac Converj, a CTS Coupe concept based on the same platform as that of the Chevy Volt. A fully-electric Cadillac? You bet!
