iPhone users aren’t exactly at a loss when looking for a place to dock their phones these days. But even in a market that’s flooded with a myriad docking and music amplification systems, the iBamboo Speaker by designer Anatoliy Omelchenko of Triangle Tree manages to separate itself from the pack. The simple-yet-chic design consists of a single piece of bamboo — one of the world’s greenest natural materials — with a slot cut into it where the iPhone is placed. The natural shape of the speaker amplifies the tunes, producing a pseudo-stereo effect that requires no electricity.

Power 365 is a concept for a next generation smart power supply that uses a simplistic arrangement of solar cells and light emitting technology. Designed by Phil Pauley, the portable device aims to produce enough juice to charge mobile phones, laptops, mp3 players and more. If produced, Power 365 would range in price from $200 for small mobile devices up to $50,000+ for a large scale linked rack of many devices for more powerful domestic or commercial applications.

Born in Korea and based in the Netherlands, Joonsoo Kim, Jungyou Choi and Hyunwook Lee designed black and white versions of possibly the most hated appliance known to man and replaced the nasty plastic for hand-made, paper pulp iterations. These ‘Paper Alarm Clocks’ will wake you up in a softer way ensuring you start your day in a happier and more sustainable manner.
