With this Tesco Plastic Bag Warrior Princess costume, Ria Burns is taking no prisoners in our Green Halloween Costume Contest. She used 15 old plastic shopping bags sewn together to start the bodice, and the detailed corset and arm bands spun together from leftover yarn complete the outfit. The cardboard sword, added to claim triumph of tackiness, may just be enough to make her Queen of this year’s competition. What do you get when you combine a bike helmet, battery-powered lights, and a big plastic salad bowl? If you were going to guess an awesome DIY jellyfish costume, you’d be right! Carrie Ortiz cleverly combined these everyday items to create a glowing Halloween costume that anyone can replicate. Just glue color-changing lights to the inside of a clear salad bowl, attach strands of cellophane to the bowl, then secure the whole thing to a bike helmet, and voila! You’ve got yourself a dazzling costume that will light up any party.
