Roseanne Barr has gone from sitcom comedy to a reality show set on her Hawaiian macadamia nut farm – and her latest venture is running for president! The comedienne and activist announced Thursday via Twitter that she will be running as a Green Party presidential candidate for 2012. Barr’s platform heavily stresses ending the influence of corporate money on politics and elections.

Our green holiday party is tonight!

To ring in the holiday season, Inhabitat is teaming up with Philips and the Environment Showroom in New York TONIGHT, to kick off a festive evening of cocktails, delicious (vegan) hors d’oeuvres, and glimmering conversations – and we hope to see you there!  We’ll be showcasing Philips’ brand new energy-saving AmbientLED bulbs, hosting exciting eco giveaways (including some furniture from Environment!), and exhibiting some of our favorite green lighting designs, using the new Philips energy-saving AmbientLED bulbs.  It all takes place from 6:30pm to 9:30pm tonight at the Environment Furniture Showroom – so join us as we light up the night and ring in the holiday season with a sustainable spark!
