Natural gas drilling has starred in several documentary films in recent years, including Josh Fox’s Oscar-nominated “GasLand,” and now it’s set to become the subject of a major feature film starring Matt Damon. Last week, WME Agency, which represents Damon, confirmed to Politico that Damon will star in “Promised Land,” a movie about hydraulic fracturing (or fracking) – the controversial and environmentally destructive technique of removing natural gas from the earth. The movie is still in pre-production, and filming is scheduled to begin in the Pittsburgh area later this month.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are the parents every kid wishes they had. The celebrity super-couple is reportedly finalizing plans to build an underground, eco-friendly theme park for their six kids. What prompted the extravagant plan? In In September, when the family visited Legoland in England, the trip had to be cut short due to security concerns. Brad felt bad, and now he’s making it up to the kids by building his own massive, solar-powered amusement park on their property in the south of France.

These last couple of months have been touch-and-go for the site of the iconic Hollywood Sign in Los Angeles, but now thanks to a generous donation from Hugh Hefner, the site has been saved! The Hollywood Sign sits on an area of 138 acres on Cahuenga Peak, and while the sign was protected as a landmark, the property was up for sale — a development company had slated the land for five luxury home sites that ran $40 million bucks a pop! Luckily however, people from around the world, plus some famous celebs kicked in enough dough to buy the property and preserve it forever.
