Inhabitat’s favorite local NYC design show, BKLYN Designs, just wrapped up a three-day run in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, and the Inhabiteam was on the scene to source the latest and greatest green designs at the show. From adjustable, magnetic lights designer by Bower to a Mesmerizing 3D LED LUCID Mirror from Adam Frank to this incredible concept for a flood-proof, prefab beach building by Garrison Architects, see all the designs that really stood out in the Inhabitat editors’ eyes. This amazing 100% wooden bicycle was completely hand-crafted by Yojiro Oshima, a design student at the Craft&Industrial Department at Musashino Art University in Tokyo. The wooden bike features a sculptural wooden frame that softens the ride while retaining an optimal level of stiffness.

Excited about that stylish top from J.Crew but wish you could have it for the party tonight? Why not just 3D print it right at home? That’s the vision embodied in a Clothing Printer conceived by industrial designer Joshua Harris. Harris developed the Clothing Printer with a group of colleagues as an entry in the Electrolux Lab design competition in 2010, where it placed in the semifinals.

The Tree Bench concept is pretty self-explanatory: a seating area encircles a tree, which serves as the design’s focal point. Constructed by Marko Vuckovic from white corian material, the bench has five holes in its surface; the tree grows through one and grass through the others. It is easy to install and immediately incorporates the tree as part of the design.

Royal College of Arts graduate Dan Watson has developed a brilliant sustainable fishing net with luminous exit portals that allow endangered and young fish to escape so that they can fully mature. Watson calls his design the SafetyNet, and the project was recently awarded with £10,000 for taking first place in the 2012 James Dyson Awards.

For the Grindbakken pits’ first temporary activity, Rotor came up with the idea of framing several parts of the concrete, as opposed to painting them. Their concept adapts and reuses what already existed while transforming the space into a modern artistic hub. Following this initial renovation the space is expected to be opened up to other artists. The Grindbakken exhibition is currently open to visitors in Ghent.

The Belgium-based collective – consisting of Tristan Boniver, Renaud Haerlingen, Lionel Billiet and Maarten Gielen – regularly works with industry and construction, and often up-scales and reuses building materials in their impressive work.

City streets are a rough place for cyclists – they’re strewn with bits of glass, metal, and potholes, so popping a flat is virtually inevitable. Fortunately, designer Pat Ramey has created a brilliant Bike Pump Keychain that fits in the palm of your hand and can have you riding again in a jiffy – simply attach the adapter to an air compressor found at any gas station and fill ‘er up. The best part is that you’ll never have to lug around a cumbersome pump – a patch kit and the $12 keychain adapter are all you need.

This brilliant Bufalino Camper is a minature home that’s perfect for the minimalist voyager seeking to lead a contemporary nomadic lifestyle. The compact vehicle is kitted out with all of the essentials a modern camper may need – a bed, a basin, a cooking area, and a laptop desk. German industrial designer Cornelius Comanns wanted to provide a space for people on the move – a flexible ‘home’ to return to (despite the absence of a bathroom!)

Created by industrial design studio Pigeontail, the Papervore is hungry for all you printed leftovers. Measuring 16″h x 31″w x 16″d and constructed from aluminum, mahogany, oak and acrylic with a distinct mod aesthetic, the Papervore can easily munch up any correspondence with just a turn of the crank.
